HIV/AIDS and its prevalence in developing countries is a factor of the lack of development and prevailing poverty as well as other factors such as conflict, post conflict situations, wars, gender inequalities, lack of access to education, inadequate health care systems and more.

everyONE stands to tackle the spread of HIV and the need for better care for persons living with AIDS from a different angle. everyONE works with most marginalized groups and most vulnerable groups and works to provide them access to education and further translate that education to self-employment. We believe that a person with hope for a better future would take better care of themselves. Whether the person is un-tested, positive, or with a negative result – the fact that there is hope for a better future, would encourage that person to better take care of their mental and physical health, to be able and be willing to contribute to the community and to be proactive.

To date, everyONE has a staff of over 630 persons, of which about 50 are core staff and 580 are community agents and members. everyONE chooses to bring them on board as staff and not beneficiaries, because we believe that being a beneficiary is not empowering. The staff has at large low monetary salaries but very high educational compensations with courses and seminars ranging from leadership development, to vocational trainings, to courses on ethics, to courses in language and communication. everyONE is confident to achieve results within the communities of intervention through this method of development work. The training in vocational training is based on six product lines which everyONE is developing for the global market. The training to manufacture these products is provided and there after everyONE commits to finding corporate markets for corporate orders/sales which the trained community members can then fill. Once a community/staff member reaches this level, she or he remains part of everyONE and can continue filling in orders and earning a living through the manufacturing of goods, but she will have to leave the space for training for another person to get a chance.

The program will sustain itself, in time, through this income generating scheme and the role of everyONE will be rather in facilitating the trainings and coordinating the identification of markets.

For those agents who are already engaged in tertiary education and could not afford to continue their studies, everyONE establishes arrangements with the respective institutions and covers the required amount so that they will be self dependent hopefully using their acquired knowledge.

Compared to the existing reality in the world of development, our work is very modest, yet we trust that we can substantively reach more and more communities and their members, one member at a time. everyONE does development work through enabling community members in accessing education and subsequently in creating windows of opportunity for self-employment.
